Once your online profile is successfully set up, you will receive two emails from us - one with your username and login information and one welcoming you to our volunteer program.

After creating your online profile, complete the following online training modules:

  • Volunteer Orientation
  • AODA E-Learning

You can find both modules in your Better Impact account, under “My Profile” → “Training”.

Volunteers aged 14-17:

Please download and complete the Parent/Guardian Waiver Form. Your parent/guardian and witness need to complete this form.

Volunteers aged 18 or above:

You are required to get a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from a local police office department.

  • If your residential address is in York Region, email us with your interest to volunteer and your full name (official name). We will send you the Volunteer Letter and details of VSC application. Find more details on: Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) - York Regional Police (yrp.ca)
  • If your residential address is out of York Region, contact us for the application details.

Send your completed waiver form or Vulnerable Sector Check via either one of the following ways:

Please note that if you would like to volunteer for Aquatic programs, in addition to the above-mentioned forms, you will also need to email us a copy of your aquatic certification (Bronze Medallion or higher).
