Richmond Hill Blooms

Richmond Hill Blooms is a program designed to encourage residents to play a role in beautifying our community by creating attractive, colourful and well-maintained front gardens.

Upcoming events

Join us for a free, hands-on gardening workshop and plant sale. Learn the secrets of front‑yard gardening with Master Gardener Sally Hossain from the Richmond Hill Garden and Horticultural Society—then shop the plant sale and take some greenery home!

Discover how to mix edibles and native plants into a traditional landscape, choose the right veggies for your space, and make the most of vertical growing. Grow more, eat more, and love your yard even more!

Date & time: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Elgin West Community Centre, 11099 Bathurst Street

Is there a beautiful front garden in Richmond Hill you admire? Nominate it for recognition each spring/summer! You can nominate your friends, family, neighbours or even your own front garden.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Garden designs can be anything from a lush, green oasis to a vivid array of colours and scents to a pollinator’s paradise. All nominated properties will receive a recognition sign to proudly display in the front garden.

The 2026 nomination period will run from June 2 to July 7.

Recognition signs include a ‘Winter Pollinator Habitat’ design on the back, which you can display at the end of the season to inspire others to leave their gardens for pollinators to nest and rest during the winter months.

Please note that the judging portion of the front garden recognition program has been discontinued. Instead, the program is going back to its roots and will focus on encouraging a higher level of participation across the community.

Pollinator Garden Badges

Proudly display these custom-designed stickers on your Front Garden Recognition lawn sign if your garden supports pollinators. Pollinator supporting gardens should feature elements such as:

  • Native trees, shrubs and/or wildflowers
  • Nectar feeders
  • Nesting spaces such as bee hotels or fallen logs
  • Places to rest such as flat stones in sunny places
  • Avoids the use of insecticides or fertilizers

Learn more about what the City is doing to support pollinators and how you can help by visiting RichmondHill.ca/Pollinators.
